Why does the device not respond to the connected external power supply?

Question

My device does not respond to the connected external power supply, what can I do?

Please check if the socket to which the power adapter is connected and turned on and that the power adapter is correctly plugged into the socket.
If the power supply has a separate on / off switch, please check that it is switched on and working by trying another device on the mains outlet. Many power supplies have special LEDs to visualize the charging process. Please check if such an LED is present and make sure the LED is on.

Note: Some heat build-up in the power supply unit is normal during normal operation or during a charging process and is not a fault.
