Why does the device get unusually warm?

Answer

In general, devices can become too warm, e. g. if the ambient temperature is too high, the location is poorly ventilated or if the ventilation slots are covered / blocked and if many programmes are running in parallel.

For PCs, notebooks, netbooks, all-in-one PCs and TVs, please note the following:

• Carefully clean the ventilation slots with a hoover or a dust cloth to ensure an optimal air supply. Special compressed air cans can also be used to blow air through the unit. PCs have additional fans (graphics card, mainboard, etc.) in the unit that can also be cleaned.
• If many programmes are running in parallel, first shut down your device and let it cool down. Restart it and make sure that not too many programmes are running at the same time and overheating the unit.
• Make sure that your unit is in the shade and avoid covering the unit or the ventilation slots.

Please note the following for smartphones and tablets:

• If many programmes are running in parallel, first shut down your device and let it cool down. Restart it and make sure that not too many apps are running at the same time and overheating the device.
• Close unused apps that are still running in the background. When you close apps, they continue to run in the background. You can call them up with the square symbol from the navigation keys and close them there. Under the respective app settings, apps can be closed completely (Force close). Depending on the Android version, this may be displayed differently.
• If you use the device with demanding apps during the charging process, this can lead to overheating under certain circumstances.
• Do not expose the device to direct sunlight and avoid covering the device.
