FAQs about MEDION Recovery Solution (MRS)

  • How do I start MEDION Recovery Solution?

  • There are several ways to start MRS and thus restore the system:
    1. Turn on the computer and press the F11 key continuously. On some notebooks, you must also hold down the Fn key.
    2. On the login screen, before logging into Windows, click on the On / Off icon in the lower right corner. Hold down the Shift key (above the Ctrl key) and click on Restart.
    3. In Windows, with the user logged in, click on the On / Off icon in the Start menu at the bottom left. Hold down the Shift key (above the Ctrl key) and click on Restart.
    4. Open the Start menu and select Settings. Click on System on the left, scroll down and select Recovery. Under Advanced startup, click on Restart now.
    5. Press the Windows key + R. In the Run window, enter the following command and confirm with Enter: shutdown /r /f /t 0 /o
    6. Turn on the computer and turn it off again immediately when the Windows logo first appears. Repeat this two more times (for a total of 3 restarts). Avoid this procedure if possible in the interest of the hardware.
    • Additional note:

    • If Windows fails to start three times in a row (e. g. due to a system error), the Windows Recovery Environment opens automatically.
After the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) has started, a screen appears with a selection of different options.
Select the Troubleshooting option using the arrow keys.
