Hi @steve53 , Your i5-7200U is a BGA (Ball Grid Array) chip, which means it's soldered directly onto the motherboard. This cannot be upgraded or replaced like a desktop CPU. Laptop motherboards are typically not compatible with other CPUs unless they were made for them — and even then, it's a big maybe. So: swapping out the processor on your existing motherboard isn't feasible. Your Options: Option 1: Stay on Windows 10 Windows 10 is supported until October 14, 2025. Perfectly usable and stable until then. You can still get updates, security patches, etc. No immediate need to upgrade unless you really want Windows 11. Option 2: Install Windows 11 Anyway (Bypass CPU Check) You can install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware. Microsoft allows this, though you might miss out on some updates or support. You just have to bypass the CPU check during installation.
