One step at the time, rightclick on speaker icon on task bar and have a look at volume mixer. Make sure the volume is not close to 0. Going forward, click on speakers icon and check the properties, make sure the device is enable. pic Windows treat the headphones with a custom volume settings compared to build in speakers. Another test you can run is to plug a regular earphones like the one used for samsung smartphone (even the mic should work as well). External speakers also would do. BT is quite inconvenient (at least for me) as the sound is delayed (about half sec) and extremely annoying on watching video or playing games. Check those 2 mentioned above (other headphones and volume settings). I hope is not a problem with physical connector which would imply warranty service. Cheers

Hi @ArrIvvA , welcome to the forum If is possible, come with additional info about the machine (MSN would do) and headphones model where available or at least why kind of connection is used (3.5mm audio jack, USB, BT). Kind of hard to give any advice since each connection type have it's own problem and it's own solution. For what counts, Windows 10 detects the headphones and change the audio output by itself. Failed to do that it might be a connection problem. Cheers

Hello again, You're right @Sc0rp1c , the total power provided via cigarette lighter socket is 180W and it's protected with 15A fuse. I understand now why the battery cords are provided with converter. The only option I can see is to connect the laptop when is off therefore less power required to charge only. Cheers

@TemperedTech Trust me when I say, 2 SATA SSD (M2+2.5") are much better than 1 SSD. Usually launching a game require a lot of preparation from windows (like loading required libraries, placing programs in background and other things) and loading game assets which are better to be on secondary SSD. As for RAM, well I din't notice any improvement in Final fantasy XV, Tomb Raider (last 3 of them), Elex, Mass Effect (all of them), Risen3, Xcom2 and Resident Evil 2 (all high demanding in terms of hardware). I guess there are some limits about how much power you get from CPU and GPU and extra ram didn't help me at all. It could be different with a mechanical HDD since windows can reduce the use of swap. Try to consider a 128 gb M2 and 960gb 2.5" As for the socket, it looks like the MB manufacturer decided to use a model which can be fit on any kind of M2 controller just like the choice of screws (2-4 types on modern computers compared to 10-14 types on antiques) Cheers

@sixsonic No, it is a benchmark for RTX 3060 mobile GPU, sort of baseline numbers (including the score). Since the video card is build in motherboard you can't predict how much power will use (compared to desktops) so the GPU specs are the closest info you can get. Cheers

Hey @TemperedTech , The fitted M2 on my laptop is 128gb version of this https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/8cqLy8nfWf6LAxjywu4HsY-970-80.png.webp I understand your frustration as I passed the same one as well but I didn't encounter yet a M2 socket where you can install an SATA or NVMe and work. When it comes about working it's only one out of two: SATA OR NVMe. Even the PCIe cards M2 controllers have dedicated sockets for SATA and NVMe (didn't seen common one which can work with either of them). If it helps somehow, get an M2 SATA, migrate the OS from your mechanical HDD and buy an 2.5" SATA drive to replace the existing one. It's a safe and sure way to get your laptop to max performance. And on the side note, don't bother to increase RAM from 8 to 16 as you won't see any difference in games on other programs (did that and it's kind of waste of money - no gain at all). Other than that, P6689 was sold in different configurations regarding storage, while I was a bit greedy, for extra £15 I choose the version with 128gb m2 ssd, 1000 gb hdd and dvdrw (with intention to replace the optical drive with a hdd/ssd bay). On very next day after getting the laptop I replaced the HDD with SSD. Cheers.

Hi @TemperedTech I can confirm, M2 SATA only. I own an eraser p6689 and asked exactly same thing some time ago. Although the M2 socket can hold either SATA or NVMe it will only works with SATA. When that happens, the cards deliberately reduce their speed (hash rate) for solving Ethereum-related math problems by about 50%. Since these RTX cards originally launched without a reduced hash rate, the newer LHR models will be labeled as such on the box and in product listings." Hi, It seems like you are willing to do some testing (hence 3dmark program) and that means at some point you are willing to open the case and replace the RAM modules (you are at 32Gb limit already so no more RAM to be added). Still, before you buy, remove one bank of memory and test the remaining one at what frequency is working. If is still at 2400 MHz you can blame the motherboard for limiting the speed to the safe area. On the same note, when you install the RAM bank back make sure the slot is same color like the occupied one (to make sure is set for dual channel). From intel CPU tech data: "Intel® processors come in four different types: Single Channel, Dual Channel, Triple Channel, and Flex Mode. Maximum supported memory speed may be lower when populating multiple DIMMs per channel on products that support multiple memory channels." That is about CPU. The MB might come with different way to set up the RAM frequency as well but that's nu much to be done about it. Overall, figure out if it's worth it to replace the RAM other than trying to achieve a high score in 3DMark which BTW can be affected by many factors. Speaking of 3DMark, run a CPU test, then set up from task manager a higher priority for the running program - see the difference. Of course there is a chance of making the system unstable if you go for highest priority. Also, if you do the RAM removal thing take a picture of labels for that bank, it might contain useful information. Cheers

Hi, I don't know if it helps or if will solve any problem but here it goes. For the last 2 months I get a BSOD 1-3 times a week for no good reason. I didn't install anything new, I didn't run any updates other than windows (no antivirus, just windows defender), no other extra activities added or reduced compared to what I did in last 6 months. Yet, BSOD right after microsoft announced w11 in beta test version and of course my choice of stepping out of insider program since I have no use for another Big Brother (google is enough as it is). So the point is, it might be the operating system which generates those BSOD. Wrong Bios version on a mother board is what can be called "shoot in the dark". In over 20 years I never encounter a single case. So if windows or medion don't offer a bios update don't try to do that by hand, it won't end up well. I still think it's a software (and/or drivers) problem.

Supports and Run are 2 different things. 1. Fan speed have nothing to do with RAM frequency 2. Yes, CAS Latency 21 CL is not best option for a gaming computer (shouldn't be an option for any modern computer). Again, have nothing to do with RAM Frequency 3. A RAM 3200 MHZ would simply NOT WORK on a MB which doesn't support that frequency. Current working frequency is set by the CPU and unless you change the CPU with one which require 3200 MHZ is nothing you can do about it. Your CPU decide the RAM frequency and have only 2 states: work as intended or not at all.

Ram frequency is dictated by CPU and cannot (shouldn't) be changed. RAM banks are made to support different frequency as the CPU ask for it. Meaning you can use the existing RAM if you decide to change the CPU with a model which require 3200Mhz

Look at the second picture posted by @Gehringer The USB connectors under LAN are USB2.0 (black&white) while the Blue connectors are USB3 On side note, USB3 is build with backward compatibility so can act as USB2 if the connected device requires that.

Hi @Johndm The only thing which is not specify in your description is TPM (Trusted Platform Module Technology) but I think there is that option since it's a relative new model. The 2 connectors for additional fans on MB are responding to power/heat management and not best option if you are looking for good airflow. For example, the adjustment of fan's RPM can be related to CPU temperature (ONLY) and completely ignore the temperature of additional video card (which looks like the problem in the first place). Bios is related to the motherboard and even if feels old it does it's job as intended. Update it will not improve your hardware but most likely will unlock some options (if any available) which were hid in the first place for different reasons (security and/or stability). Overall, it doesn't help to better cooling. Covering/exposing air grid and adding fans it's all about the best airflow and all depends on existing hardware and the case type. Hence the specialist recommendation. Depending on how is the airflow around the video card you can have a inward front or bottom fan installed (with dust filter) and maybe compensate with a fan like this https://cdn.ready-market.com/106/2a07ce3d//Templates/pic/TTC-004_01.jpg?v=d8ad8fe3 under the video card (positioning will make the difference between useless and efficient). Depending the CPU heat sink additional fans can be installed on top back or up top of the case. Again, all have to be done in order to create a proper airflow so the components which are generating heat (chipset, RAM, HDD) to be cooled properly without moving the hot air over the other components. On same note an airflow which can't reach the hot components it's as dangerous as having none. Still recommend and specialist for this job.

Hi @MrErnest Yes, you can install additional fans but I would strongly recommend to let a specialist doing that mostly because 2 fans are not the same and aside choosing the right fan is important the location as well. A specialist can also have a look if by any chance the fans on your video card are not working properly. Other than that, a bios update will not solve the overheating problem on your video card (never does). Cheers.

Let windows do the magic. Select the large partition marked as BOOT. All other partitions serves their purpose as there are. Also too small (or wrong type) to held windows.

By the looks of it you only have one hdd and the previous windows was sitting on the partition marked as boot. If you still have information which you want to preserve I suggest to save them first.

I think related to those 5 short beeps to be a error of translation as it's more like "process" error than "processor" error, Some posts over different forums points as a "almost fail" communications related more to video card. Out of curiosity, when you choose to renew windows did you choose to clean reinstall it or to refurbish the computer? Because the second option creates problems in so many levels... To any case, F7 is the hot key for boot menu and if your USB fails to boot you might need to change the USB mode in bios.
