Erazer bandit p20 md3d34510 b660h7-m20 can't update bios

I just purchased the pc from currys and I can't see any way to update the bios for the motherboard. I can get in the bios but it looks like something from win95 and the only videos I can see on yt about this type of bios are from 13 years ago.

Has anyone else had the same issue and found a solution?

I've been in the device manager and tried to update firmware from there but no cigar.

1:navigate where you have extracted bios for example:

C:\Windows\System32>cd C:\Users\....\Desktop\00_Bios_b660h7-m20

2:

WFH.bat

I have no idea what that means.

I wad sent a zip with the bios update and told to run the bat file.

I did that, nothing happened..

Just putting whatever that means doesn't help me.

I've had emails from the manufacture saying the motherboard os the bottleneck because you use cheap motherboards.

So now I'm in doubt that a bios update will help me.

Sick of this.

Unzip the zip, all files, e.g. into a new folder C:\Bios

Go into new folder c:\Bios with the unzipped files

Right click on wfh.bat, start as administrator

As I've explained before, I've done that and nothing happened.

No sorry, ou did not confirm you unzipped the 00_Bios_b660h7-m20_v2.zip first into a new folder, eg c:\Bios\*.*

In there you should find following files:

c:\Bios\ReleaseNote.txt
c:\Bios\B660H7W0X.cap
c:\Bios\B660H7W0X.ROM
c:\Bios\B660H7W0X.209
c:\Bios\B660H7W0X209.bin
c:\Bios\WFME64.bat
c:\Bios\SFME.nsh
c:\Bios\MEManufWin64.exe
c:\Bios\Fpt.efi
c:\Bios\MEManuf.efi
c:\Bios\MEInfoWin64.exe
c:\Bios\MEInfo.efi
c:\Bios\FwUpdateEfiLib.lib
c:\Bios\FWUpdLcl.efi
c:\Bios\FWUpdLcl64.exe
c:\Bios\FPTW64.exe
c:\Bios\FWUpdateLib.lib
c:\Bios\WFH.bat
c:\Bios\F.nsh
c:\Bios\AFUWINx64.EXE
c:\Bios\AFUWIN.EXE
c:\Bios\AfuEfix64.efi
c:\Bios\BgtWin.exe
c:\Bios\BgtWinx64.exe
c:\Bios\BgtEfix64.efi
c:\Bios\amifldrv32.sys
c:\Bios\amifldrv64.sys
c:\Bios\amigendrv32.sys
c:\Bios\amigendrv64.sys
c:\Bios\AMIDEWIN.EXE
c:\Bios\amidewinx64.exe
c:\Bios\AMIDEEFIx64.EFI

Do you have all these files all unpacked in your folder c:\Bios ?

Change into the folder C:\Bios, then start the WFH.bat with right click as an admin.

Where is the folder named bios on my pc? I extracted into a new folder on my desktop ran the bat file, nothing happened.

Just tried again, fet a popup saying this kind of app can harm my computer.

I'll just send this pos pc back to curries coz you're no help and your company is ripping people off with these gaming pcs that don't game.

@Mrdw

You really have no idea about what you and the PC does, isn' it?

The folder C:\Bios was an example. You can create it yourself on partition C:\.

But a new folder made on the desktop should be alright also.

Exept  for path reason because it is quite  a long path; some Updates do not like it.

So the path on your PC looks like this:

C:\ Users \"Your User name" \ Desktop \ Bios-Folder (the name you gave it) \ WFH.bat

The warning about harming your PC comes from the antivir program you do use or from Windows  UAC (UserAcount Control), to prevent harm to your machine.

And a bios update is such a potential harmful file, if you would use a wrong update.  Because it is a very critical thing (file) which  you apply to the basic machine room of your PC.

But this the warnings can not differentiate, if you make use of the wright or wrong  update.

So this warning is normal; in this case with a certified download from Medion you can override it..

I am sorry, but this is a stupid conclusion. It is your missing knowledge  the bios update won't  work, because you do not understand the way a PC works.

Second you wrote : "coz you are no help"??  I do wonder indeed why I do waste my time on your problems!

But the PC works and could do "Gaming", as long as the user in front of the screen knows how to handle it. And the Company is not "ripping people off"!

And Third it is not my company, I am just a user like you or others, but with some more experience.

@daddle @RAZZ

Hallo,

ich habe auch das ECS B660H7-M20. Aber mit viel älterem Bios B660H7WOX.112.

https://community.medion.com/t5/ERAZER-Gaming-PCs/Erazer-Engineer-E10-MD35298-BIOS-Update/m-p/164820

Ebenso wegen AMD Sinclose (ECS B550A4-EM)

@Vince
