BIOS update folder in medion website not complete

Hello

Following a problem of Blue screen I want to update my BIOS to make sure it's not related to this.

When I go this page https://www.medion.com/gb/service/product-detail/30035597 and click on the info button it describes the process as such :

 Screenshot 2023-10-24 094441.png

However in the folder they give there isn't file called FF in the folder BIOS... And when I try to launch the FF.inf that is in the folder EC I have this error message

Screenshot 2023-10-24 0952358.png

I really don't what to do

@paulmaindivide

This Helpthext is faulty. First you have to decompress the zip file into a new folder.

Windows does it automatically if you do a right click and mark Decompress into a folder

--> 00_Bios_Crawler_E40_Deputy_P40

The first go into the folder Bios, and start the  FlashWinX64.bat.

Then reboot , wait a few minutes and then go into the EC folder; do a right click  on the FF.inf and mark and confirm the "Install" command.

@Major_ToM should check my advise first. Please Major, be so kind.

Hi @paulmaindivide ,

as already mentioned I have to adjust the installation guide and after extracting the downloaded 00_Bios_Crawler_E40_Deputy_P40.zip file you indeed have to move into the folder named "Bios",

Afterwards right-click the file FlashWinX64.bat and choose "run as administrator"

Major_ToM_0-1698153360862.png

This should start the installation process.

Cheers

Major ToM

P.S. The file willbe not available on our webpage until all download descriptions have been modyfied

Hello both of you thanks for your answers.

Okay thanks !! I'll try it.

I'll begin with FlashWinX64.bat as you said.

But before I do it, what about the error message I get when I tried to install the FF.inf ? This one :

paulmaindivide_0-1698609244710.png

Will I get it after I install FlashWinX64.bat ? Thanks for your help

Hello @Major_ToM and @daddle

I have executed the FlashWinX64.bat file as you said.

And then I tried to install the file FF.inf in the EC folder but I can't because I have this error message :

Can you help me on this please ?

Thanks

And do you know if the drivers that I have downloaded in your website  are compatible with Windows 11 ? Because since I purchased the laptop 2 months ago I have been experiencing constant Blue screen with the reason "DRIVERIRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL (kbdclass.sys)". I have tested everything found online but nothing works.

Can I join you a mini dump analysis of the error to see if you can find something ? I'm completely hopeless and now it's too late to return the laptop...

Here is the minidump :

Hi @Major_ToM

Something is wrong on the linked page : https://www.medion.com/gb/service/product-detail/30035597

A completely different driver package can now be found:

Fishtown_0-1699217805993.png

please correct, and @paulmaindivide already seems to have the current bios: 1.07.09RME1_00028/ EC 1.07.04ME1

see picture:

https://community.medion.com/t5/Operating-Systems/I-want-to-install-Windows-from-a-USB-but-I-can-t-f...

Tschüss Fishtown

Edit: this should be the correct one: https://www1.medion.de/downloads/index.pl?op=detail&id=23122&type=treiber&lang=uk

Edit1: Hello @paulmaindivide , please check the name of the driver package you downloaded

Hi all,

@Fishtown has been right, the linked drivers weren´t 100% compatible, so I assigned the right driver package

@paulmaindivide Generally users should always rely on the drivers which are provided via Microsoft Windows Update, because the system detects the component by itßs vendor ID and installs the most recent drivers.

Are there any open tasks left, yet?

Cheers

Hello,

I followed the procedure for updating the bios too and I have exactly the same problem, I was able to run the executable in the Bios folder, which updated my Bios (visible by pressing F2 when starting the computer), however in the EC folder, when I install the INF, I have the same problem, I get an error message with "a certificate chain processed but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted provider", if anyone can help me?

Thank you
