Hello. I have a problem with my Medion laptop. The fan of this laptop works at maximum speed after 3-10 seconds of startup. I cleaned the radiator of the cooling system and replaced the thermal paste on the processor. I also reinstalled Windows and programs, and checked the processor load. The processor load in idle is 5-10%, the temperature is 40-45 ° C. Nothing helped to fix the problem. If I reboot the laptop and go to BIOS, the fan continues to work at maximum speed. But if I turn off and then turn on the laptop, the fan first works quietly for a short time, and then works at maximum speed. Please help solve this problem
Best wishes, John Oak

Hi @JohnOak,
1. Reset BIOS Settings to Default
Incorrect or corrupted BIOS settings can cause hardware misbehaviour, including fan control errors.
Enter BIOS (press F2 or Del during start-up).
Look for an option like "Load Setup Defaults" or "Restore Defaults".
Save and exit.
2. Embedded Controller (EC) Reset
The Embedded Controller (EC) handles power and fan logic. Resetting it can often fix persistent fan issues.
Turn off the laptop.
Unplug the charger.
Hold the power button for 60 seconds.
Plug it back in and power on.
3. You can try to perform a factory settings reset, but be aware this will erase all your data so you must back the data up first.
For doing so:
• Restart the NB
• After restarting it, press the F11 key or start up the notebook with the F11 key held down to launch PowerRecover.
• Select the preferred language and then click "Next"
• You will be offered 2 possible options: − "Restore to HDD - no backup of user data" and "Restore to HDD - With backup of user data" Click "Next" after selecting the desired option
• Click "Start"
• Click "OK"
• Click "Finish"
Wait while installation completes.
Kind regards
Igor

For the EC reset you should take the battery out first. Or am I wrong?
Otherwise the Laptop switches on, and off again, like with a bootloop-.

Hi @daddle,
Ideally, the battery should be removed when performing an EC reset; however, this step is not strictly mandatory.
While leaving the battery connected may not completely cut power to the system, many modern devices are designed to recognize an EC reset through an extended press of the power button. This is possible due to power circuit designs that isolate or discharge the embedded controller when the button is held down for a sufficient duration.

Thanks for your answer. But "many modern devices recognize the EC reset" are not all. Second the E7223 isn't a modern PC.. It's more than 10 years old.
Except from that, the battery with this Laptop is easy to remove, it isn't built in. See the picture in the manual:
So it is more safe to do a complete reset with the battery removed.
Bye, daddle

Hello. These solutions did not help.I tried everything you suggested.Nothing helped. Here is a photo of the BIOS.Maybe the problem is in the BIOS?
