Hallo,

0. Take the wallsocket plug out
1. Open the case ( left side, two screws at the back)
2. Pull the sidewall backwards
3. Declipse the black air funnell.
4. Open the fan's power connector plug from the motherboard.
5. Loosen the four screws in the corners of the fan (Sometimes these are spring-loaded retaining pins.)
6. ---> in this case you can press the pins in the corners down and twist them (approx. 60°) to secure them in the relaxed position.
7. Remove the fan and heatsink (the fan often has a few hooks clipped onto the heatsink).
8. After that, you can remove the processor and clean the old thermal paste from the heatsink with a tissue and some alcohol solution.
Pay attention to the marked corner (usually indicated by the beveled pin arrangement), which you will also find on the new processor.
9. Apply new thermal paste to the raised part of the processor where the heatsink rests. It's best to apply it to the contact surface to a thickness of about 1/2 mm.
10. After inserting the processor, place the heatsink with the clipped-on fan in the center and tighten the retaining screws. The spring-loaded retaining pins can be re-fixed by turning them backwards.
11. Replug the fans power cord into the mainboard socket
12. Reclipse the air funnel back

Welke processor zou U aanbevelen?

Thanks. Major Tom
I will go for the RYZEN5-1600 3.2GHZ 65W.
Is there a "how to do it" article?
This will be my first processor swap.
Or is it hop off and hop on???

Hallo Major,
