@daddle  The issue is that it is the RECOIVER partition of my boot drive which is called D (see macrium screenshot)   and I was wary about changing it’s name via disk management (and therefore freeing  it up for my ‘beloved drive’ 😊) because it is a recovery partition and I didn’t want to mess anything up if that drive name was used  by the system when repairing/recovering. I did a web search first for answers most of which said don’t do it.   I then checked with CHATGPT which said: “3. Will This Cause System Problems? Recovery Partition Use: Recovery partitions are typically used by the manufacturer for system recovery. Changing its drive letter usually won't cause issues unless the recovery tools specifically reference "D" in their configurations. However, on modern systems, recovery tools often function independently of the drive letter. Recommendations: Before proceeding, check your PC manual or Medion support resources to confirm if altering the recovery drive letter impacts functionality.”   I then posted on this forum and the answers seem to say don’t do it so I didn’t – as I am still not sure how dependent the Medion system is on the drive letter letter for recovery   If I had ‘D’ freed up to use for my beloved drive I think it actually would help as I have checked the path names on my old PC  .vsp files from Corel Visual Studio tand I think they would work on a D drive on my new machine but I could be wrong 🙂   NB Thanks for all your help on this and other stuff! ... @daddle  Sorry to keep adding to post!  Basic question is - is it OK to change the Drive letter for the Recover partition on my main drive to E instead of D? It is accessible and I can change it with disk management tool but I don;t want to do that f it is likely to cause system issues. ... View more

Hi Daddle thanks for responding. I want to install a physical drive from my old PC and want it to show up as Local Disk (D) when viewed on “This PC”. Currently the Recover partition on my main drive on my new Medion shows as Recover (D) on “This PC”. The reason I want to keep this as Drive D is that I have thousands of  video files on the old drive that I have edited in Corel Video Studio and want to retain the file path for the files as other wise I will have to relink them all if I want to re edit which is a real pain. Thanks Fishtown. The problem is that the second M2 slot seems to be bured under the massive graphics card. I it it a big job to remove it to insert an M2 and then replace it nd tdo you think that would invalidate my warranty? and is the speed differnce from a SATA SSD drive different enough to make it worth it ?  ... I have managed to find the SATA power leads now, they were tucked away inside the power supply enclosure. Can only see one m2 ssd slot though whihc the 1TB drive is in.  ... View more
