How to enable XMP on MEDION B560H6-EM2 (U3E1)

Recently upgraded my ram to 3200 mhz. However they only run at 2400 mhz atm. Could anyone tell me how to reach the bios and where to enable XMP?

Best regards

Hello @chefsahlam, and welcome to the community.

To get into the bios please follow these steps:
1. turn off the computer and wait for 5 seconds.
2. turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the start menu opens.
3. press F10 to open the BIOS setup utility.

You will then find the XMP settings here:
Advanced Memory Settings > Extreme Memory Profile

I had to hold "tab delete" whilst starting. Could however not find any tab called "Advanced Memory Settings". I did find a tab called advanced but there was nothing about memory settings in there or under any other tab. Got any other tips?

Best regards

Correct, nowhere to find to enable XMP or set AI overclock tuner to DOCP in Bios.

Hi @Edman  & @chefsahlam ,

this sounds kind of strange, because we already shipped PC units carrying the predecessor´s B460H4 equipped with DDR4-SDRAM modules (PC4-25600 / 3200 MHz), so if your modules are okay, the should run with more then 2400 MHz.

The current Bios version of the ECS B4650h6-EM2 should be 1.16 and can be downloaded here.

Please remind, that for any errors, caused by the execution of this update, we don´ t accept any responsibility for damage or lost of data.

Cheers

Hi

Facing similar query. My system came with 16 GB or RAM at 3200Mhz. I recently bought 32 GB to replace it however it is only running at 2133 MHz instead of 3200 MHz. I bought this RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz CL16 Intel XMP 2.0 Computer Memory - Black (CMK32GX4M2E3200C16)

Unless i am doing something very dumb, I can't see an obvious way to change the RAM speed in the bios as it will only let me select from the blue options.

@ben0123

Major-Toms answer was a bit evasive. The B460 nor the B560 Bios offers the possibility to set XMP profiles Indeed, even with the better machines with an OEM Bios the XMP profile settings are blocked out mostly.

If XMP profile settings are missing, the RAM will run at its basic speed; with DDR4 it  is 2400MHz.

Thanks @daddle . It is strange however that the original RAM was running at 3200 MHz so I assumed it would be possible with the new RAM?

You did not understand. Only RAM which  are and have XMP possibilities, but the chipset or Bios do not allow to use XMP profiles, will reset to the standard basic frequency of the XMP RAM

Your built  in RAM is no XMP RAM, so it runs with the maximal JEDEC  frequencies, as high as the chipset allows , and the Jedec specifications offers for this RAM
