Medium akoya E3221 storage increment

Hi all, as said in subject, I would like to increment the storage of my akoya. I know it supports an extra ssd m.2 sata, what I don't know is the maximum capacity that can be connected.

Anyone can clear up this for me?

Thanks.

@Elsita

Hi Elsita, first you should give the MSN number of your E3221, because some models come  equipped with eMMC storage, plus an additional free slot for a flash memory expansion module SATA  M.2. Others have no eMMC, but come with an M.2 SSD equipped in the expansion slot already.

Though the manual for both models speaks of:   " Your notebook is equipped with a slot for a flash memory expansion module"

Cheers, daddle

@Elsita

If you do not give us your MD- and MSN Number from the sticker underneath, we can not  help any further. I have a good reason why I ask for it. Didn't you read the manual on page 37

This entry in the manual all models have, although with some of them the expansion slot is occupied already with the boot disk

So what is the disk capacity of your model, and  post the MSN please?

Cheers, daddle

@Elsita

Ok, then your 500 GB M.2 SSD will fit.

And no, RAM is soldered to the board. It can not be upgraded.

What will help is, to move your OS to the new SSD; reformatting eMMC afterwards and to use it as normal storage.

This will speed your boottime up for about 30%; and also all Windows operations are similar faster; especially if bigger programs are loaded.

Cheers, daddle

Thank you @daddle , it's a very good info.

But I don't know how to move the OS from one drive to another.

The storage upgrade is installed and working ..
