My partner has had a Model P6645 for about a year now, the keyboard is pretty much illegible from use, which isn't great but maybe if someone can confirm if this is normal? She now stands a replacement external keyboard OVER the original one so it can be used. Not ideal.
And then I would like to upgrade the memory, can this be done, what DIMMs (if those?) do I need to order and how do I open the laptop up, do I need any tools?
Thanks! HP.

Hi @HedgePig and welcome
Please state the MSN number.
the comparable notebooks P6645 have a RAM of two options:
Onboard none Slots 1x 8192 MB DDR4 SO-DIMM (PC4-19200/2400MHz) 1/2 covered Max. Capacity (chipset support) 16GB
most have the device screwed and clipped with plastic lugs.
is your keyboard still working? use key stickers!

The listing is misleading, in the Database a semicolon s missing. It should say
" Onboard none; Slots 1x 8192 MB DDR4 SO-DIMM (PC4-19200/2400MHz) 1/2 covered Max. Capacity (chipset support) 16GB
So you can add another 8 GB in the second empty slot.
Her in this post you get som information how to open the case:
