Why doesn`t my monitor show a picture on the USB 3.1 socket?

Question

My monitor connected to the USB3.1 socket shows no picture, what can I do?

Answer

First, the BIOS settings should be checked. Under Advanced → Advanced Chipset Control "DDI to mDP" is preset. This value must be changed to "DDI to TBT":

If the monitor remains blank the error may be due to the cable being used. The USB 3.1 cable must support Thunderbolt.

If another monitor is going to be connected, the value in the BIOS under Advance → Advance Chipset Control → MSHybrid or DISCRETE Switch must be changed to MSHybrid:
