X40 RAM max speed

Hi all,

I have a beast X40 (MD62611) UK which came with ddr5 32GB 5600Mhz RAM which ran great. However, every now and then I was maxing this out so have bought the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 64GB 5600MHz RAM (2x 32GB). Once installed, it only runs at 5200MHz! There seems to be no option of XMP in the BIOS N1.10MED09 (latest) which would allow me to set this to the 5600MHz.

My Question is, is this hard set within the current BIOS when you have 64GBs of RAM installed or is there a way to override this?

@Gaz987

I guess the 5200MHz are the maximum speed the chipset allows. Or the Bios restricts to. As a safety feature.

I also think the original  2x16 GB RAM  also run at 5200 MHz. only.

You didn't specify this. XMP RAM ist not configurable .

Bye, daddle

Hi diddle, thanks for the response.

The original 2x 16GB runs at 5600MHz fine, confirmed by HWINFO.

Just don't get why it's runs 400MHz slower when you double the amount of RAM.

Any other help would be gratefully received.

I got the same Issue.
I can only guess its because of Single Sided RAM (SSR)/Double Sided RAM(DSR).

I have 2x16GB DDR5 5600MHz SSR installed and it works like a charm.

If i install 2x32GB DDR5 5600MHz DSR it only works with 5200MHz.

I also got my hands on one 32GB 5600MHz SSR and with that installed it works with 5600MHz as well.

But i don't know where to get another SSR :/.

Can find any specific RAM information on SSR/DSR 😕

In the Erazer control center, there is the possibility to unlock the RAM functions in the original Medion BIOS N1.10MED09. There you can also manually set the RAM back to 5600MHz.

@Ghoose

If this works, it's really good news!
