Hi, my Eraser recon P10 seems dead (MD 35068). The fans are spinning though, and the machine turns off if I hold the power button for 5 secs. No beeps.
It has an I5-10400F, so no on-chip graphics.
Can't see anything happening, Windows doesn't start, can't see or get into the BIOS.
I have tried resetting the BIOS by taking out the power, the battery, switching the jumper.
Even though the PC is still under warranty for a month, I had changed the graphics card about a year ago. Had been working fine since.
Not sure if the issue is now with the CPU, or the mainboard. I have tried switching out everything else.
I read somewhere that the BIOS would choose the onboard graphics instead of a dedicated card? Is there seriously no way around that?

Your PC or CPU has no onboard graphics. So if you can't see anything on the screen most probably your graphic card is defectiv, or your cabling is not ok. You can not use the mainboard ports, they should be blocked with a black plug.
Only the graphic card ports can deliver a picture.
I would advise, you rechange your graphic card to the original one, and check it's function.
If it doesnt give a screen picture as well, I would utilize the last month of your guarantee; and be quick with it.
Cheers, daddle

the graphics card is fine, works great on another system. I’ve tried swapping out everything else like memory, PSU, esr disks. Unfortunately I do not have the original graphics card anymore to go back for my warranty.

So what do you expect? There is no possibility to do a serious diagnosis of the hardware without examining the PC itself.
On the other hand, you still should get a ticket for a guarantee check up. Exchanging the graphic card is a normal part of your owners right, and should not spoil your warranty, as long as the graphic card meets the specs for your computer (PSU).

It looks like something wrong with both motherboard and cpu. If I place an i5-11400 in it then I get the same outcome. No image on neither on board graphics connection nor dedicated graphics card. When I put the i5-10400f on another board then I get no image there.
I returned it now within the warranty period. Should take a few weeks for maintenance. I did get the info that I need to pay for shipping if nothing was found to be wrong but I have now tested so much that I basically have a similar system built from parts I bought for trying to find the culprit on the medion system.
I feel confused. I have built a lot of systems in my life but in this system it feels like the motherboard and the cpu have been locked out from playing the computer game somehow.
