@Lux321 This little Notebook is made for Windows 8 / 8.1 8.1 check with Born-City about the impossibility to boot from a USB Stick.(How did you manage to install Win 7 ). Born-City schreibt: https://borncity.com/blog/2014/12/13/windows-und-der-problembr-connected-standby/ Problem number 1: BIOS boot and legacy boot are no longer possible… The trigger for this post was complaints from several users that they could no longer boot their new Medion Akoya devices from a USB stick. I had this in mind when I stumbled across this post on the Medium forum . The user wanted to boot Ubuntu from a USB stick on a Medion MD 99330, but had no success. The USB stick wasn't even recognized. After disabling Fast Boot and enabling CSM in the UEFI, the USB stick did appear as a bootable medium. This is marketed in the UEFI as a security feature to prevent booting from external media. So, although it was disabled, Ubuntu still wouldn't boot. There are instructions available for booting Ubuntu on UEFI systems, but they didn't work. I don't know how it ended, as the thread died down. … leads to Windows 8-only hardware But during further research, I came across this thread . The user complained that the Medion Akoya E1232T (MD 99410) didn't support USB booting. The system even reported in advanced boot mode, "System doesn't have any USB boot option. Please select other boot option in Boot Manager Menu." – the solution was then found in the thread. The MS 99410 has an Intel Bay Trail CPU, and Connected Standby was implemented on the system. This prevents booting from an unsigned Windows 8.x installation media. The Medion system in question is designed exclusively for running Windows 8 (or Windows 8.1 and later versions). Alternative operating systems like Linux distributions don't seem to be bootable. It had been feared for some time that this development would occur. Microsoft denied it and downplayed the situation. But the situation has now 'happened', as the Italians and French like to say. But this "News" is from 2014; bzut since your Hardware in the little NB hasn't change I presume! 😉 But maybe someone knows more about it lately, or Windows install routines have changed ? Please state the MSN number of the E1232T , and the MD-number as well. Both should be imprinted on a sticker underneath. Bye, daddle
