Sorry for my very late reply. Yes it was eventually picked up and was ultimately replaced with a new laptop. Not Medion's fault but poor work from DPD who never knocked before but did on their third attempt. Thanks.

Hi So I have a Medion Erazer Notebook which unfortunately is faulty (doesn't turn on). I contacted Medion and they booked a collection for last Monday 1st August by DPD. Nothing happened. No one came and there was no message from DPD. When I contacted Medion they said DPD informed them the 'item was not ready for collection'. This was a complete lie as I was in all day and saw no one from DPD. So, collection was made for this Monday. Again nothing happened. No message from DPD, no collection. I emailed Medion again and they said DPD informed them that 'there was nothing to collect' which was another complete lie! A collection has been made for this Wednesday. But I must say never have I dealt with so much incompetence and downright anti-consumer behaviour in 30 odd years of my life! Someone is lying and I am not sure who. I can not believe DPD would be so blatant plus I never received a message from them suggesting I was never on their system. If this is not fixed soon I will have no choice but to contact the Consumer Ombudsman and make a complaint.

I temporarily fixed the Control Center by installing what was on the D drive (which is a pain to get into because it is behind a BitLocker) so right now I have Control Center service 3.1.4.0 but I do not have all the functions as before. So what should I do now? Uninstall CC service, use the defaulttool and then install 3.33.21.0?

Assuming your issue started with the recent Bios update that was forced on us in the last week via Windows Update (and was broken) you need to look here for a download you run that will fix it. Itt also has a FAQ for the control center issue if you have it but I can't get it to work so right now I have no control center which means I'm seriously hampered in performance.

I have problem with control centre. I had uninstalled and then reinstalled but it seems I uninstalled the wrong thing (should have been the service but I uninstalled the app) so when I tried the fix it didn’t work. I am now without a control centre and performance is dreadful. I have the 3070 Erazer Beast X25.

Ok got the audio working but control centre still doesn’t show. I had uninstalled it to reinstall before but that may mean I uninstalled the wrong thing. My fault for jumping the gun. So I’m going to need a fix. I will say it’s never a good idea to force bios updates for this very reason. I’ve lost a whole days work today and I still need a fix. Without control centre the notebook is virtually unusable.

After my control centre decided not to show all modes tried to reset the app but it didn't solve it so I uninstalled and downloaded and installed the one from the link. Unfortunately it doesn't work. i see the icon but when I click it on it does nothing, no response at all. What can i do to fix this?

Well the control center only had basic options so I uninstalled and downloaded another from here link to download but even though it installed and I can see the icon it doesn't do anything - doesn't open or start. The audio does at least work for me in bluetooth. It all worked fine for me yesterday but after a windows update (and a Medion update, I think, which was odd as I had not downloaded anything from medion - I had a loading bar show up on the medion logo start screen before finishing and shutting down. May be that was the culprit?) the audio stopped working. Been a mess ever since and without the control center the laptop is nowhere near as useful.

Well I would have been more positive about the laptop but I have two issues now. The control center that has settings for gaming etc is missing a mode for some reason and the laptops speakers are no longer working. The latter is almost certainly an issue with the atapi internal jack malfunctioning meaning i'm going to have to send it in. A real pain in the backside. Otherwise fine but i believe its relative cheapness means it isn't the most reliable. And I've only had it for a little over 6 months.

Hi For gaming use turbo and check the settings - on the SPC settings you want them as high as possible. The CPU will get very hot, easily upto 95c and GPU to 87c but that's kinda normal with notebook type laptops. If you don't games will be limited in performance by the temp or tdp or power draw. If just watching videos and surfing web office is fine. Use MSI afterburner to keep an eye on temps but be prepared for high temperatures.

Hi Yeah everything works as well as I could hope for my laptop. Just remember the BIOS doesn't use UEFI and is quite bare bones. A PC tech should be able to do plenty with the laptop as it's not too tricky but there are limitations with some of its hardware.

Hi I recently installed a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD in the second SSD slot. Everything is fine. I'm afraid Medion's support are not very good. They told me there was only 1 slot!

According to this - https://community.medion.com/t5/ERAZER-Gaming/RAID-im-Beast-X25/m-p/120700#M8411 which I got by holding down F10 I have two nvme controllers. I looked on my laptop and one is used and another is empty. Is it bios or UEFI? Don't remember the difference, sorry. And I checked to be certain because Medion Support who should know because, you know, they are SUPPORT, said there was only one. Sorry for any confusion but who was I supposed to believe? Ultimately I did what Fishtown posted and checked for myself.

Hi all. Yeah, just went to Bios and could see there is space for another PCIe NVMe SSD. Why Medion support said there wasn't room for another surprises and worries me. What else do they get wrong?

Hi. Thanks for that. I actually contacted Medion and they said there wasn't room for another SSD. So errm, assuming they are wrong if I used a PCIe 4.0 would it still work but slower (I happen to have a 4.0 lying around)? Otherwise I'll use it on my PS5 and get a PCIe 3.0 for the Erazer. Cheers.

So does anyone know for sure? This particular laptop doesn't show up on the Medion website so I can't check but I'm sure I read somewhere it had 2 NVMe slots not one and one SATA SSD (pretty sure the SATA SSD would be too big). I'd install myself if it isn't too tricky but it's pretty bad that I can't find more info on their website. Maybe I should email their support team?

Hi. Thanks for the response. I got bios open with F10 eventually but it's pretty basic. UEFI i've not tried yet but will do. As for DLSS not working effectively maybe it's hit and miss. Will check again.

So I just purchased a Medion Erazer Beast laptop. https://www.overclockers.co.uk I have issues. Can't get into bios. This seems to be a thing with Medion stuff as I've seen threads about this. I really want to turn the AMD integrated gpu off as the temps on the CPU are already very high (usually around 86c). And my NVIDIA control panel is lacking the usual options like DRS). Secondly this 3070 laptop gpu either works well or it does'nt. What I mean is DLSS just doesn't work. If I have a game running at 45fps and I turn DLSS on my FPS increases to....45fps, sometimes worse. I appreciate it won't perform like a desktop 3070 but DLSS should work. Otherwise performance is good. But I'm not happy with a poor DLSS performance. And I have the latest drivers. I'm not sure if anything can be done to be honest. I was suspicious that £1399 was cheap for a laptop with a 3070. But if it's a real cheap OEM version then that would explain it. Getting into BIOS would be a start though.
