Hi Daddle   Want to first of all i want to say a massive thanks to you and Sweet both a massive help throughout and anyone else with issues please do listen to what they confirm to do as it really helped.   I reformatted as i i bought a new gaming pc to contend with the upcoming battlefield but i wanted to keep my medion gaming PC to have a lan network at my house to play games like warcraft 3 and company of heroes on lan when friends are over ( i will say it can do more than that i was playing warzone constantly beforehand on 60 / 70 FPS so no pushover), The computer had not been formatted for a long time and was really running sluggish even after deleting items which werent needed anymore so i thought that was the best course of action at the time, if i had the choice now i wouldnt have. In terms of getting a new drive i dont disagree my new pc has a 500GB ssd for my windows install and music production software / 1tb SSD for games and a 2TB standard HD for storage. Maybe i will buy a new HD for the pc but it will soley be used for LAN gaming going forward so i may not i will see if i can pick one up on the cheap i may look at it for this.   To confirm windows installed great and deleted the other paritions so back to normal just lost the ability for my pre install but certainly a lesson learnt for myself to be more careful if ever doing this again.   again thanks for your help got me out of a tight spot i got myself in to anyway.   Many thanks ... Hi Sweet i am happy to wipe everything completely as i saved everything of importance before i started the format.   Is it worth then just installing to the large drive and do i delete everything else? didnt want to delete it incase i needed the recover partion etc for windows to still work.   thanks ... Hi Daddle   To confirm to boot worked with F8   I do have a few questions and thought as i am so close to getting this on now i wanted to check before just doing this as not to brake it again. The USB is booting correctly so i am in the windows screen but its showing the following partitions and i dont know if i should just install to the big drive or change the others so any advice would be appreciated as i dont want to delete or format the wrong drive and then make it worse for myself.   i assume its only going to let me install on the boot partition anyway due to size.   Thanks   - Drive O - Partition 1 - System - Drive O - Partition 2 - MSR (Reserved) - Drive O - Partition 3 - Boot - (Primary 1851 GB) - Drive O - Partition 4 - Recovery - Drive O - Partition 5 (30 GB) Recover - Drive O - Partition 6 : PRC_RP OEM (reserved )   thanks ... Hi Daddle   Unfortunately i was strapped for time last night so i followed your initial cycle and then reseated before trying to start it up again, nothing felt loose when i did reseat the graphics / memory and i didnt touch the processor with fan nor cleaned anything so i am not sure if it was a dislodge or not i also went round and just pushed down on all connection wires just to make sure it wasnt that, nothing felt like it wasnt plugged in or loose. Once i got to the Medion screen i didnt get the beeps which to be honest i was surprised as i expected the same outcome i had all those other times before although as said i cant confirm it wasnt that as i did both.   I will give this a go in terms of the USB flash drive by tapping F8, i will also go to BIOS first and see if Fastboot is switched off. I can see the USB in the bios now its called 'UEFI USB Hard Disk' and i used the media creationtool from microsoft website i used the following settings when creating the USB - create installation media / language english / edition windows 10 / architecture - both / usb flash drive / esd G which is the usb stick.   I will give this a go and provide an update.   thanks     ... Hi Sweet   HI Sweet Thanks for your help on this so i can get to BIOS now but i am still getting that windows error when the system begins to load so i need to now try to get windows back.   I had a look at my bios settings it shows as UEFI Network and i can see the Sandisk Cruzer which i think is the HDD and also it shows the partion of where windows used to be called 'UEFI Hard Disk:Windows Boot Manager (WDC and loads of numbers / letters) I tried resetting the order of boot to the usb but this hasnt worked and i still get the error is there anything else i should do in the BIOS to try and load this windows from the flash drive? I can seethe USB plugged in on BIOS so i was hoping it would just load but so far no luck.   thanks ... View more

Hi Daddle   Again thanks for your help and to the others the cycle you told me to do is fixed so i am now getting the medion load up page and i can now get to BIOS, i can confirm its the delete key and not the F keys to access BIOS for my motherboard, i did as you said i left the battery out of the motherboard for a good hour and used thw power button every 15 minutes over an hour period. i also reseated the graphics and memory in the board just to make sure although it was working perfectly before the format which is why i couldnt understand what the issue was but wanted to make sure. all i need to do is get windows back on and hopfully i should be back up and running so thanks again for your advice.   ... Hi daddle i didnt see the last part of your message when i first replied: Than you could try to make Cmos reset , keep the batterie out for 10 min minutes before replacing. If there is a 3 pin port with a Cmos Jumper reset; normally the jumper is on Pin 1-2; you have to set the jumper to 2-3 for a short while with th e battery taken out;, than put it back to Pin 1-2 again. if i take the battery out of the motherboard again which i can do in terms of the Cmos jumper reset now i am slightly lost, where do i change this? i had a look through the motherboard manual but it doesnt mention this at all so i wanted to check before asking the question what am i actually looking for here is it a actual manual switch i change or something i complete on the actual PC.   thanks ... Hi daddle thanks for coming back i have tried to answer all the points. 1. When I start the computer up i get 5 short beeps each time at the moment this has only started since i formatted. 2.short 3. The screen stays black if i hold down as per my other update earlier when i press keys my asus screen power button is amber with no picture but if i don't press anything or press the keys as i mentioned that don't change anything the screen loads and i have picture with the windows sign, underneath it states 'preparing' like its going to install windows and that's when i get the install windows error as mentioned, the picture showing this is above your post to me now. I have also tried leaving this to see if it would install but it doesn't. 4. Yes i have tried this so completely turn off with both the power button and using the switch on the back of the power unit where power cable is but so far no luck with bios loading at any point. I tried this with delete and f keys, is there another key i should try?  5. Yes as per above the only picture i have had since i completed the format is the screen where windows looks like it is about to install but other than that the screen light is amber and no picture so no light on the screen. 6. Yes i have the usb i created on my other machine as a bootable usb when i i try this i still get the beeps and nothing loads so still stuck with the black screen and the windows attempting to install does not load, is there anything i should be holding or pressing with this inserted i tried already with nothing being pressed and delete etc but nothing. 7. Tried as you said with the f8 f10 before any power goes to the pc and i have the amber screen with computer on so no picture although it never gets to the windows load error with the usb in the computer. 8/9.no its completely dark with the power button to the screen lit as orange, only time the screen power button as turned blue so far is when i get the windows preparing screen and then the error message, if you click ok or trying closing the error it just recycles and goes again. 10. So i pulled the hard-drive cable out and tried to see if it loaded the usb and again it didnt, i plugged it into my other pc to make sure it has all the content and it does show it as a bootable image on the usb stick, when i used the windows tool these are the settings i used - create installation media / language english / edition windows 10 / architecture - both / usb flash drive / esd G which is the usb stick. Hi Sweet just to update you on the situation.   - So i firstly tried all buttons holding them down and repeatedly hitting them and my findings are below. Delete - by holding delete or repeatedly hitting stops the windows loading although thats it, computer stays on nothing on screen F1 - F4 - holding down or repeatedly hitting the buttons did nothing and the computer proceeds on to the windows preparing screen F5 - F6 - by holding delete or repeatedly hitting stops the windows loading although thats it, computer stays on nothing on screen F9 - F12 - holding down did nothing but repeatedly hitting again did stop the windows screen popping up.   - i removed the battery from the motherboard with tweasers thankfully and that was pretty straight forward and left it out of the pc for a good minute, i have placed this back and the computer is no change following the exact cycle. not sure now if it is the hard drive or if something else is wrong as its strange i cant even get to any form of BIOS at all.   let me know if any other ideas? only thing i was thinking was trying to get a windows CD and trying that although again not an option i wanted to do down.   Thanks ... Hi Fish and thanks for responding   So to make sure i am i powered down and tried holding down Delete and nothing loaded i then proceed to try this again with the F keys just to make sure but still the same.   Just to make sure i am not missing anything the Entf key is just delete?   wanted to make sure i was doing this right before i had to go through the route of removing battery from MB.   thanks again ... I can see the battery its located just by the graphics card so i can pull the card out and then, when you say the start button would this just be the power button for the computer? Yes thankfully i backed up everything before going through with the format. I tried both delete and F keys and no joy it just keeps my monitor on standby and the computer just keeps running without anything being loaded. In terms of removing the battery just want to make sure as never had to do this before so as i remove the battery keep the button held down, place battery back after 5 seconds and then release? thanks     ... Hi Sweet Thanks, I had a look through the forum and found issues i pondered for ages on  years back when i first bought the machine so i wish i had signed up earlier than i have 🙂 I will go back and try all F keys to see if i can get it to boot to bios, if this doesnt work is there any other way of doing this? Also if i do get it to work with the reformat i did would i need to change a particular setting on the hard drive back or is there a standard it should be and i can check to see what changed? Yes it was a preinstalled OS just so angry at myself for clearly disrupting the partition, i will becertainly paying more attention next time if i ever had to format. The flash drive i made do you know if i am doing it correctly in terms of i just plug it in and it should load the windows install or do i need to be pressing anything when the computer starts?
