DirectX

Definition

DirectX provides a collection of com-based application programming interfaces (APIs) that allow applications to access hardware directly.

Slow APIs can be bypassed without applications being dependent on the hardware.

Furthermore, functions that cannot be handled by the hardware are emulated by DirectX.

DirectX also provides the DirectX Diagnostics Tool (DXDiag), which provides information on the version of the operating system, as well as hardware and software data. This data provided by DXDiag can help if information about your system is to be transmitted.

Press the Windows key + R, type dxdiag into the Run window and press Enter. In the DirectX Diagnostics Tool, click on Save All Information. The data collected by DXDiag will now be saved as a text document.
