Question

Why does my PC crash in hybrid mode with XMP activated?

Answer

When XMP is switched on, crashes may occur in combination with the hybrid mode of the Seasonic power supply unit.
⚠️The power supply unit must be switched off before the fan control is changed.⚠️
If the power supply unit has a fan control switch, set this to Normal mode. The fan does not rotate in hybrid or fanless mode (S³FC).

Switch position to Normal (two-stage mode):

  • In this position, the S²FC mode is activated. The speed of the fan is limited up to a power draw of 50 per cent (500 watts) so that the fan produces a maximum sound pressure of 16 dB(A). With increasing power consumption, the speed increases slightly without becoming loud.

Switch position to hybrid (three-stage mode):

  • In this position, the S³FC mode is activated. The fan does not rotate up to a power draw of 30 per cent (300 watts). At a power demand between 31 and 50 per cent (301 to 500 watts), the fan speed is limited so that it generates a maximum sound pressure level of 16 dB(A). From a power request of 501 watts, the speed increases slightly without becoming loud.
