Medion Akoya P6627

Hi,

We have a Medion Akoya P6627 upgraded with a SSD drive. Recently the fan doesn't appear to work and the computer overheats and shuts down. Is this due to a faulty fan or could it be that the incorrect BIOS is installed. Any comments and advise appreciated.  Thanks J

Hi @san8155 and welcome to the FORUM!

It can actually be both so you may need to test a few things.

Your model has drivers listed in here that you can download and install.

Also, try using the device manager to check if your firmware is updated. You can find instructions on how to do so here

Lastly, try updating Windows to its latest version to get all the drivers updates available.

Regards,

Gehringer

Hello,

I had the same issue with overheating. I've a Medion Akoya P6659. You need to make sure all the latest drivers are installed. Also, the problem disappeared when I replaced my Crucial 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM with the Kingston’s KC600 SSD.
