I understand that the 8GB of memory on the UK version of the MEDION AKOYA E16401 (MSN 30032034) is soldered onto the main board. I'd like to know whether the soldered RAM is in single- or dual-channel mode, as this greatly affects the performance of the integrated GPU. Presumably there's no spare SODIMM slots on the laptops that have soldered RAM either way, right? Thanks!

Hi, you are right, you can not expand your Ram. But 16 GB soldered on board isn't so bad.
I guess it is running in dual channel mode. You can check this with the little free program
CPU-Z --> https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.htmlCheers, daddle
In the register Menoory the mode dual channel will be shown, or not.
Just to make sure please name the MSN number of your laptop.

Took a punt and bought one each for my two kids. Can confirm that the soldered RAM is seen by CPU-Z as operating in dual channel mode. So that's good, and helps the Iris Xe iGPU perform as well as it can. The whole system seems well put together. And at a price that can't be beat (at least here in the UK).
