Poor sound quality after replacing hard drive with an SSD

I have a Medion Erazer P6679 laptop. The hard drive was terrible so I replaced it with an SSD. Its much faster however my sound quality is now really poor. Everything sounds like its coming through a tin can. I thought it might be the settings since this is a fresh install of Windows 10 but I can't find anything in my settings to help. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, one of the suggestions was to update Windows and it turns out I'm missing a lot of quality fixes. This is likely the issue so I'll update now. Thanks again
