Medion Akoya e15412 not recognizing battery

The laptop model MD64090 MEDION AKOYA E15412 came with a dead battery so i purchased online a new one with the same model 456484-3S which i measured with a multimeter and it is fine. Now the issue is that the laptop only boots with charger attached and the battery shows constant 100% and when I do powercfg /batteryreport in CMD it comes empty. Funnily enough when i unplug the charger the laptop keeps running on battery power for a few minutes although from the software side it is not recognized. I tried disable enable drivers, but nothing is working. Any suggestions?

Hello,
It sounds frustrating that your new battery isn't being recognized by your Medion Akoya E15412. Since the laptop runs on battery power for a few minutes after unplugging the charger, the battery itself seems fine. Try resetting the battery: remove the battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power, then reinsert the battery and power on the laptop. If this doesn't work, check the charging port and ensure the BIOS is up to date. nysdmv

Best regards,
James Henry
