Hello,
I did a fresh install of Win 10 on my friends laptop several months ago since it was outdated and lacked the space to do a upgrade. I believe I installed Win 10 1709 but the Win 10 audio driver didn't work, but luckily the 8 version did. Since updating to 1809 the sound has gone and there is no battery tray icon. It is grey out in Win 10 options.
There's talk about the matter on the Dutch page: https://community.medion.com/t5/Notebook-Netbook/Medion-Akoya-S2217-S2218-Windows-10-Fall-Creators-U...
Task manager doesn't even display 'audio input and output' in device manager so there's no id to look up.
Help.
Regards.

Hi @Paft,
The post on the German forums is about the update to version 1709, not 1809, but as far as I can determine with Google translate the problems seem similar. If I understand it correctly the solution in that case was to reinstall Windows using the Media Creation Tool. Maybe this works for you as well?

Sound still breaking after the Windows update. I created a restore point just before it to test.

Seems to be working this time around. Time will tell. Since I didn't expect it to work and the fact there isn't a installer exe for the Chipset drivers for 10 I just ran the one for 8. Have sound and battery icon. I did right click> Install on each 'setup information' ini file for the hell of it after a reboot.
EDIT: The speaker icon is no longer red cross but there is still no sound!
EDIT: Did a fresh install again, ran the 8 chipset driver then the realtec driver. I have sound. I guess the when I installed the 10 drivers it broke it.
