Hi

as per unit specs MSN 30023793, your unit comes with 2 disks so you will be ablet to change either one of these.
The SSD will have to be a M.2 2280

@patpin it

I think it would be better just to exhange the boot drive, actual just 256 GB only with a 1 or 2 TB  NVMe M.2 SSD for  SATA III (6 Gbit/s) protocol.

A SSD is much faster than a HDD. But this second drive  is a HDD with1TB, so it could be worthwhile to keep it - or you do replace the 1 TB HDD with a 2.5" SATA SSD in notebook size, 7, 8 or 9 mm thickness.  I think the 9 mm willl also fit in your older NB.

It's all a question of cost.

Edit:

But for Data space, watching videos or keeping music or fotos. the HDD still is sufficient fast.

For exchanging the bootdrive, you have to clone it; in my opinion creating an image is even better,  porting it to the new drive.i

Gives you more data security, also as a backup.

Cheers, daddle

@patpin

Yes it should.  But the you have or to clone your old boot M.2 SSD. Or , more easy, make an image of your 256 GB drive, and flash it onto the new drive.
