Why does my MD 10864 electric barbecue trolley switch on again in the "OFF" position and heat up the grill plate?

Answer

As this is a thermostat, depending on the ambient temperature, it is possible that the thermostat switches on and heats the grill plate. The off position is merely the lowest adjustable temperature of the controller, which does not have an off switch. (see picture)

⚠️Note⚠️ To prevent the grill plate from heating up further and the appliance from being de-energised, the plug must be disconnected from the power supply.
