Hello everyone
I am using an OEM PC Medion Erazer Recon E45 MD35360 EU
It uses a Biostar A520 motherboard with a custom OEM BIOS from Medion
I am trying to use FACEIT Anti Cheat but it requires IOMMU to be enabled
There is no IOMMU option anywhere in the BIOS
I checked AMD CBS NBIO options CPU settings and all advanced menus
SVM virtualization is enabled but IOMMU is missing
My CPU and chipset support IOMMU but the OEM BIOS locks this feature
Medion does not provide any newer BIOS version
Flashing a retail Biostar BIOS is unsafe for this system
Has anyone found a workaround for OEM Medion or Erazer systems with locked BIOS
Or is this system incompatible with FACEIT because of BIOS limitations
Thank you

Hi @Pasha03
What happens if you install a smart update? It will only allow updates that are compatible with your OEM board.
It can't hurt to try.

Hi @Pasha03 and welcome
I don't know if it's newer than yours and if it also includes iommu, but here's an update:

Thanks for the link
I have checked and I am already running this BIOS version
BIOS 5.17 dated 09 10 2024
There is still no IOMMU option anywhere in the BIOS menus
So this update does not add or expose IOMMU on this system
Looks like IOMMU is permanently disabled in Medion OEM BIOS

Hi Fishtown thank you for the clarification
You are right that the retail Biostar A520MT BIOS has newer releases in 2025
However my system uses a Medion OEM version of this board with a custom BIOS
The Medion BIOS installed on my system is version 5.17 dated 09 10 2024
and this is the latest BIOS officially provided by Medion for this exact model
With this BIOS there is no IOMMU option exposed anywhere
even though the CPU and chipset support it
Because this seems to affect multiple users
I would like to ask if a Medion or Biostar engineer
or someone with official technical knowledge could clarify the situation
On several external forums and communities
owners of Medion Erazer systems with Biostar OEM boards
are actively looking for a solution
and so far no confirmed workaround has been found
Before attempting anything risky
an official confirmation on one of the following points would be very helpful
Either that flashing a retail Biostar A520MT BIOS using Smart Update
is confirmed to be safe on Medion OEM boards
Or that IOMMU is intentionally disabled in the Medion OEM BIOS
and therefore cannot be enabled on this system
An official statement would help many users
and prevent people from damaging their systems by experimenting
Thank you

Official response from Biostar Medion support
IOMMU is locked at BIOS level on Medion Erazer OEM systems
There is no option to enable it and no supported workaround exists
Flashing a non OEM BIOS is not recommended and may permanently damage the board
Software that requires IOMMU such as FACEIT Anti Cheat is unsupported on this system
So this is a confirmed OEM BIOS limitation not a configuration issue

Request confirmation for new Medion OEM BIOS A520MT.106 and IOMMU support
I am using a Medion Erazer OEM system with a Biostar A520MT motherboard
Biostar support has provided a new Medion OEM BIOS for this board
BIOS version A520MT.106
Download link
https://download.biostar.com.tw/temp/Medion/A520MT_20251001.zip
According to Biostar this BIOS includes an fTPM firmware update
but does not mention any changes related to IOMMU or AMD Vi
Before installing this BIOS I would like to kindly ask you to confirm
First
Is this BIOS A520MT.106 officially approved and supported by Medion
for Medion Erazer systems
Second
Does this BIOS add or expose the IOMMU AMD Vi option
or is IOMMU still intentionally disabled on this platform
Third
Should users expect IOMMU support in any future BIOS updates
or is this limitation permanent for this model
For reference the BIOS update procedure provided by Biostar is
Extract the BIOS file and copy it to a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive
Enter BIOS by pressing Del
Load Optimized Defaults with F3 and save with F10
Enter BIOS update utility with F12 and perform the update
After update load Optimized Defaults again and save
An official confirmation would be very helpful
and would prevent users from attempting unsafe BIOS flashing
Thank you very much for your time and support

Thank you to everyone who replied and helped clarify this issue.
After updating to the official Medion OEM BIOS A520MT.106
IOMMU became available and FACEIT Anti Cheat works correctly.
Hopefully this information helps other Medion Erazer users.
