My 12 year old PC will not boot up
at least - nothing shows on screen - even the BIOS screen
I replaced the HDD with an SSD and to start with all was fine, but all of a sudden the display went black
Is the Video card dead or is it something else ?

I don't think that the graphics card is being detected by the PC
I really believe that I need to reset the BIOS - Is there a jumper or do I just need to remove the battery (for how long ?)

Du beantwortest meine Fragen nicht. Was verstehst du unter "PreBios" und deren Anzeige? M.E. nach gibt es das nicht. Also was meinst du damit?
Sorry, now in english translation
You don't answer my questions. What do you understand by “PreBios” and what they or how it is their displayed? In my opinion, that doesn't exist. So what do you mean by that?
Did you remove the hard drive after installing the new GraKa?
Have you reconnected the monitor?
Some bios have a 3-pin pin strip, usually there is bios reset as an imprint on the MB. The jumper connects, for example, pin 1 and pin 2. To reset, move the jumper to 2-3 for a few minutes. The power plug of the PC must be unplugged, so no 230V voltage may be present.
With other MBs there are only 2 pins, then you have to remove the jumper for at least half an hour to make sure that a reset occurs.
Greetings, daddy
Edit: Typo

Sorry - my German is not good
Yes I removed (disconnected) the SSD and YES I have connected the monitor again
To ensure that the BIOS SCREEN appears at boot up - I need to reset the BIOS !
(although I believe that QUICK BOOT was never set on the PC)

I was speaking of Quiet Boot; wjhch doesn't show any nootifications during Post, nor the Bios Logo.
Quick Boot is often mentioned as the Bios Fastboot setting,
How to reset your bios I wrote in´may latest post. Th eonl thing is you have to look for the pin strip with the mmprint Reset or Bios Reset on the board.

I have replaced the BIOS battery
Is there a jumper to reset too?
Where will I find it?
it doesn't appear to be, as per the instruction booklet - "CLEAR CMOS" via OPTIONAL HOLE "U" on rear panel..... see page in instruction manual
Which also point to page 63 - but nothing on 6 re BIOS !

In English:
By removing the CMOS battery you have done a reset if you have waited some time before inserting the new battery. Moving the bridge jumper on the pin bar makes things a little quicker. But you should also wait before resetting the jumper. You should only do this when the supply voltage is switched off.
