Cannot pair Medion MD 86955 with Airable

Unfortunately I only discovered recently that Frontier Nuvola has ceased supporting my radio, but I am going round in circles trying to set up my Medion MD 86955 internet radio to work with Airable.com instead.

 

My radio will not pair with Airable. I was too late logging in to Frontier (website closed) and therefore I could not export favourites, so I am starting again from scratch. I have registered an account with Airablenow.

 

According to the FAQ https://www.airablenow.com/faq-en/  my radio should update automatically and operate with Airable instead, but my radio shows constant Network Timeout error.

 

I found the ‘Devices’ page on Airable website but there is no way to obtain a Connect code from my radio, as I assume it is still trying to reach out to Frontier Nuvola.

I performed factory reset and used an Ethernet cable, but still no internet radio connection. I use Undok app for Android but cannot set up favourites there either.

 

So is it possible to force the radio to reset somehow so that I can pair it now with Airable? Has anyone else managed successfully to use this radio on Airable?

I found a suitable solution in our German Community and translated it for you,

I have created a new account there. You will then be guided step by step. It is important that you also have your dial-in data from Nuvola for the favourites export.
I don't know which order to use. I paired my radio first, as described above.

Hi @Luke 

Thank you for translating that for me. I have now set up an account with Airable.

 

I have managed to solve the problem. My new fibre router (TP Link EX230V) was blocking some websites (but not others), and was also blocking my Internet radios from reaching out to Airable. Constant 'Network error' message. My new router was somehow stuck in a loop. Eventually my ISP factory-reset and flashed the new router, and - hey presto - my Medion radio suddenly displayed an access code that I could enter on Airable website.

 

Everything now appears to be working properly again 🤞  which I am really happy to see. I'm very impressed with Airable as well.
