Definition

Residual-current device (RCD) is a device for electronic circuits which monitors the uniformity of amperage. In the case of prolonged irregularities in the power supply, a switch trips and interrupts the flow of electricity. It's task is to protect people who accidentally come into contact with closed electric circuits.
