I cant find how to update BIOS for my B760H7-EM Motherboard so my i7-14700F CPU doesn't get damaged

I bought a pre built gaming pc about a week ago. MEDION Erazer Bandit P20 Gaming PC - Intel® Core™ i7, RTX 4060 Ti, 1 TB SSD from currys. It has the motherboard i specified above but I cant find a way to update bios so my CPU doesn't get damaged. The bios version I'm on is 760H7EMW0X.207, 24/02/2024 and I am aware the patch for the issue was released at a later date than this. So how would I go about updating the bios as I can find almost nothing about this motherboard online and no information about updating bios for this board.

Personnellement, je n'ai rien deactiver , juste la maj du BIOS qui ne fonctionne pas. L'assistance n'a aucune solution a me proposer, a part m'interroger sur mes motivations a faire la MAJ de mon BIOS, c'est incroyable.

You can update the bios to version 209 using the bios EZ Utility in a special window (section) of bios 207. For this, you can use a USB flash drive, or simply unpack the bios archive of version 209 to the root of the C drive. Then go to the bios and point to the file with the .CAP extension, the bios will select the file it needs and update itself. Bios version 209 has updated information about Core Gen13/Gen14 processors. https://github.com/intel/Intel-Linux-Processor-Microcode-Data-Files/releases

Thanks for your proposal, the actual bios (seems to be older) doesn't have the EZ Utility.

Is the previous version somewhere available?

Look carefully, there is everything you need. I don't have such a board, there are different situations, if necessary, I flash similar motherboards with a programmer, it takes 15-20 minutes to make an existing copy and flash a new bios.

Still no reply from Medion on this issue, their proposed solution does not work for multiple users.
Still require an update for b760h7-em, I have warnings in several games that there are known performance issues due to the outdated Intel microcode. Example of one warning below:

I asked the MEDION support, please don't laugh:

Hello,

You must try to reset the computer, or send it to us for diagnosis and repair.

Kind regards

Do you have a friend with a programmer nearby? Don't worry, it's not a problem, 15 minutes to flash a new, latest bios. If, for example, flashing the bios of a laptop, you need to make a copy of the previous bios in order to extract data about the laptop, serial number, Windows key, then edit the new bios and then flash it. In your case, there are no such problems, just attach the cable to the chip, determine its brand and flash the newest bios.

P.S. Your processor is not damaged, you can even remove it from the motherboard, disconnect the battery that powers the bios, you can make a copy of the old bios, although for a separate motherboard there is no need for this..
