Change admin password

Hi we use our laptop for a local committee the person who set up the laptop is no longer on the committee and has forgotten his password.

I can log in with my password but without his we cannot download any new apps example windows 10.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Billy

Hi @Honsec and welcome to the FORUM!

If you have another user with ADMIN privileges you can use it to change the password of the ADMIN account (please click here to learn how to do so).

If you don't, then you can try to perform a factory settings reset which will reinstall your Windows and allow you to create another account which will have the ADMIN privileges. The downside is that, since it will restore the factory settings, all data will be deleted and all programs that did not come originally with Windows will be uninstalled. For doing so, check the instructions on the user manual of your device.

For getting to know other alternatives, you can check this link here but, since they are more risky, you should try it on your own and MEDION can't be held responsible for any outcome
