Why is there no sound transmission via HDMI with my MEDION LIFE P15504 Smart TV?

Question

Why do I not get sound transmission via HDMI on my Smart-TV P15504 (MD 31204) with older TV boxes?

Answer

If you cannot hear sound via HDMI on older TV boxes (e. g. Telenet Box), please check in the Settings menu under HDMI EDID whether HDMI 1.4 is selected. If 2.0 is set there, please change it to 1.4. The sound transmission should then work.
