Problem with freezing, charging interruption, and then dead

Hello,

I have an issue with my Erazer Deputy P40. I was gaming when suddenly my PC started freezing and suddenly stopped charging. The problem persists despite unplugging and plugging the charger back in. After noticing this issue, I turned off the PC. The next day, the PC started, but as soon as I launched a game or, for example, a Discord stream, the PC started freezing again and stopped charging. I noticed that I had to slightly press the charger plug for it to start charging, and after a few minutes, the plug became extremely hot with the smell of burnt plastic. Now the laptop has no battery, the orange LED lights up for a moment and then turns off, and I can't even start the PC properly anymore.

Thank you for helping me find a solution to this problem. It’s very urgent. Thank you in advance.

Hi @okbpc

I would suggest contacting your local Medion service centre and asking for a replacement charger to test, if its not this it may be the DC port which they will be able to assist you with.

I think the issue with your Erazer Deputy P40 may be related to a faulty charger, charging port, or even a damaged battery. The overheating and burnt plastic smell suggest a short circuit or poor connection, which can cause the laptop to freeze and fail to charge. I recommend immediately discontinuing use of the charger to avoid further damage, then testing with a different charger or inspecting the charging port for any visible damage. If possible, try removing the battery (if removable) and check for any signs of swelling or damage. If the problem persists, it's advisable to contact a professional technician to inspect the internal components, as the issue could be with the motherboard or battery.
