My new Erazer Major x20 MSN30035496 battery does not charge

Hi, i just bought my Erazer Major X20 and while it seems to work perfectly while connected to the A/C, the battery does not charge and remains always at 0%. Is it a known problem? (drivers maybe?)
Should I send the PC for repairs?
I'd rather fix it remotely since I need it for work.
Any suggestions?

Hi @Idro ,

Here are some steps you can try :

1. Check the Power Cable and Adapter

  • Sometimes, the issue can be with the power cable or adapter itself. Make sure the power cable and charger are securely plugged into both the laptop and the wall socket. You could also try a different wall outlet to rule out a power source issue.
  • If possible, test the charger with another device to confirm it’s working properly.

2. Update Drivers

  • Battery Driver Update: In Windows, go to Device Manager > Batteries and expand the section. Right-click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Update driver. You can also try uninstalling the driver and restarting the laptop—Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

3. Check the Battery Health

  • Sometimes, the battery itself could be faulty or degraded. To check battery health:
    • Open Command Prompt and type powercfg /batteryreport. This generates a report that can give you insight into the battery’s health and charging history.
    • Alternatively, some laptops come with built-in diagnostics tools to check battery health.

4. Reset Battery/Power Settings

  • In some cases, resetting the battery settings can help:
    • Go to Device Manager and disable the battery driver (under "Batteries").
    • Restart your laptop and let Windows reinstall the driver.
