Hello,
I have this gaming laptop: Medion Defender P10 Core i5-10300H 16GB 512GB SSD 17.3 Inch GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Windows 10 Gaming La...
The CPU has failed, my laptop can't be turned on. I sent the laptop to Medion and they quoted £564 to replace the CPU, which is simply not worth it. I may as well get a new laptop if I am paying that price. So, I would like to replace the CPU myself. But I need help on a couple of things
Firstly, does anyone know if you can replace the CPU on this laptop? Or is it soldered to the motherboard?
Secondly, it has the Intel Core i5-10300H processor. According to Intel's website, this processor is now retired. I can't find it anywhere to purchase. I can find other i5's but not the same one. Does anyone know if I can install a slightly different processor without causing any issues? If so what processor could I get?
I really want to avoid having to purchase a new laptop due to cost, so if I could replace it myself that would be the most ideal solution. Thank you in advance

Hello @jackm60 and welcome,
your cpu i5-10300H is soldered, socket FCBGA1440.
So it's not worth swapping for the normal user
Alternatively, get a laptop with a broken screen to exploit. ERAZER Defender P10 (MD 61872)
This information may increase your hit rate: It's a barebones Clevo NH77DCQ

Do you need a service manual for disassembly?
I could submit it later
