Erazer P6689 M.2 SSD hard drive model or spec

Hi,  I'm about to purchase an Erazer P6689. I've decided to purchase the model with just the 1TB HDD drive and plan to install a 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD. Does anyone know what 128gb or 256gb drives they install as a comparison. Otherwise, can someone confirm the spec of the m.2 interface? Would this hard drive work:

Crucial CT500P1SSD8 P1 500 GB (3D, NAND, NVMe, PCIe, M.2, Solid State Drive

Thanks for your help,

Mike

Hi @internetmike ,

with the specs I have given you, you should be ok.

I would recommend you to buy a SDD that is either refundable or returnable, only to play it on the safe side.

Hi @internetmike and welcome to the Forum.

To give you an accurate answer regarding the specs of the product, I would need its MSN number.

Since you don't have it for obvious reasons I did my research and here it follows my best guess:

MEDION ERAZER P6689 (MD 61002)

MSN: 30024220

SK Hynix SC308 Series

* Form Factor: M.2 2280-S3-BM

* Capacity: 128GB

* Key: B + M

* SATA Interface: SATA Revision 3

* SATA 1.5Gbps, 3Gbps, and 6Gbps interface

Performance:

- Sequential Performance

* Read: Up to 540MB / s

* Write: Up to 460MB / s

- Random Performance

* Read: Up to 95K IOPS

* Write: Up to 85K IOPS

Power Consumption

* Read (mW): 2.3W

* Write (mW) : 4,5W

Remember that Medion can't take responsibility for any changes you perform in your NB and be aware that it may affect your warranty.

I would recommend you to ask the seller of your HD whether or not it would work with the specs that I have provided but in the end the risk is all on you.

Please let me know if this information answered your question.

Gehringer

Thank you for your prompt reply. I noticed on the seller page of the P6689 that the MSN is 30023993. Does that change any of the M.2 interface spec from what you sent me. I know this is the model with only 1TB HDD. Thanks again for your help.
