Erazer Major X20 - MD62525 - NEED LATEST BIOS UPDATE

Hello Medion,

i'm having lots of issues with freezing with low power usage. screen bugs, mouse stops moving etc.

I've seen that there is a fix for this issue with the new BIOS and EC files.

I''m currently running Bios 1.07 and EC 0.30.

Please tell me there is an update for this, it makes me crazy that such good hardware that it just doesnt work good.. not even close.

my 5 year old laptop is even more fluid then this laptop in its current state.

Hi @zardozthestoneg ,

please take a ride to these thread, where you´ll find a detailed instruction of @valleron2009

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Hi @Major_ToM

Thanks for redirecting me to related thread but unfortunately that does not help completely. Because link you have previosly shared have too many files in it and I do not know which file to use. Addition to that, there are other type of files which are not mentioned in related instruction thread. Let me be more specific on it.

Please see folder of bios update below.

When I get into the BIOS folder, I see there too many files that I do not recognize and which one should be used to update the BIOS. Please see below what I mean:

And instrucion in related thread does not contain EC update.

Let me share my exact model and you may help more: ERAZER Major X20 (MD 62525) NL, MSN: 30035497

I really do not want to risk my new laptop and due to that, I really would appreciate your help.

Thanks again!

Hi @zardozthestoneg ,

before coming to the point(s) I want to share some thoughts on this one. Updating system files is always a risk despite the fact if you´re a pro or a general user. That why we always provide the disclaminer, that for any errors, caused by the execution of this update, we don´ t accept any responsibility for damage or lost of data and that the customer agrees with that fact by executing the update.

To the Bios: You can update the Bios in different ways, so wie hav different folders with different content. The most common way is to use the files from the "Firmware" folder.  Move to the device manager, jump to the point "Firmware", then to "system firmware", clickon "update" and link to the unzipped "Firmware" folder with the appropriate files.

That´s not really true, because the linked instruction contains the following lines:

2. Unzip content of EFI Shell into the root of the thumb drive.
3. Unzip content of EC and/or BIOS updates into your thumb drive (creating subfolders is OK).

Summarizing all those topics into one sentence: If you don´t want to run the risk of damaging your machine, I´d like to use the bios version, which is on the laptop.

We also can open up a cost free service case where the update is installed in one of our repair centers, but this would mean, that you won´t be in possesion of your Major Beast X20 for an approproiate time frame.

Cheers
