ERAZER Guardian X10 not powering on

Hi, I've got a problem with my laptop namely that it doesn't turn on.

Whilst using my laptop it abruptly shutdown (similar to having a power cut), it was working fine and temperature was OK.

The laptop appears to be completely dead, no LED for power etc and pressing the power button does nothing.

I've tested my power supply & fuse, battery and CMOS battery and they all appear to be fine.

Any thoughts from the hive mind on what could be the issue?

I am quite interested to know how did you test the laptop battery.  Did you just measure  the voltage, or did you test the current strength (Amperage) under stress?

Because the symptoms are really a total loss of power.  This can happen if the charging part doesn:t function. Or had you taken the battery out to save battery wearing?

Or it is a mainboard failure. But the screen should  at least it  show some reaction on the screen, eg. the screen backlight should come up (which you only can see by surrounding dimmed light ).

cheers, daddle

Edit: technical term changed

Hi,

More details

MSN is 30029492

ERAZER GUARDIAN X10 MD61882 UK

I only tested the battery voltage to get an idea if it was completely knackered or not.

I only took the battery out after the laptop died on me, before it went it was running on mains power however I didn't get any low battery warning to indicate that the charging port wasn't working.

Now if it's plugged in I don't get any LED indication for being plugged in.

Ok, no LEDs for being plugged in to

the wall socket. What happens if you start it without the battery connected ? No backlight showing, no reaction at all?

May be the Powerboard is broken You get it in the service shop.

--> https://www.medion.com/medionserviceshop/en/p/various-boards-powerboard-40076252

Costs  25,- €. It's worth a try.  And much cheaper then going to  a repair shop, or  sending it to Medion for Repair. Whether they even do it.

Unfortunately it's bricked 😢

Took it to a local shop as they don't charge for diagnostics.

Apparently something shorted and fried the motherboard.

SSD survived so there is a silver lining 🤣

sorry to hear that

But it stiil could be the power supply, or the powerboard. Such shops offering nocharge for diagostics are for my opinion sceptical to  look  at.

They have to sell new stuff to make profit. Are they trustworthy?

Cheers, daddle

Tbf it's my first experience with them, I've normally been able to diagnose / fix my laptops myself.

I only went to them as they had good reviews and to give them credit they didn't try and sell me anything.

Might still try experimenting and replacing the powerboard but will use the current condition as an excuse to treat myself to an upgrade first. 😉
