Display Port not working with an HDMI monitor Medion T80 MD34590

Hi,

Just purchased a Medion T80 MD34590 mini computer. While trying to connect to two monitors (1 HDMI, 1 Display port) the Display Port is not working. I connected the same monitor again to my old computer with a DP and the monitor works. Any ideas here before I take this back to the retailer?

Actually the problem appears to be only happening when I try to use an HDMI cable with a DP adapter. If I use a DP to DP cable it seems to work. This is a hassle however as I have to buy a more expensive monitor. Anyone know of a solution here?

Hello @mvc58 and welcome.
Do you perhaps have the wrong adapter?
Since most HDMI-to-DisplayPort adapters only work unidirectionally, i.e., only in one direction,
you may need a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.
