There is definitely some kind of thermal issue with these machines. I don't know if anyone who has returned to Medion have received machines back that work as they should. I had a feeling the issue could be from them mis-applying thermal paste or poor mounting of the cooler but really didn't want to dig into it that far. Nor should you have to on a new machine. I do know one thing though the screws over the CPU portion of the cooler were not tightened up enough however this didn't cure the issue but did help a little. It's quite true that there is a severe lack of BIOS options but sadly Intel are to blame for the lack of undervolting being available due to the Plundervolt vulnerability. It's no longer an option on any Intel chip from 6th gen to current.

Hi, Just to update the store agreed and deemed the unit faulty. As I was within the 30 period they offered refund or replace so went with refund. Ordered a different laptop now as little confidence in these models. Slight shame as the specs and build initially seem pretty good for the money. Hope yours is all working ok now since being back with Medion. Cheers.

Hi, did they fix the issue for you or are you waiting to hear back from Medion? Sounding like a common issue with this model. If they have curred the issue I have a strong suspicion that they did not apply thermal paste to the CPU before adding the heatsink at factory. The symptoms certainly match what I would expect if thermal paste had been forgotten. I contacted the store I bought it from as this unit had really bad backlight bleed too but starting to wish I'd just gone to Medion direct now as the store asks you give them 7 days to check the item on return. Not to mention waiting for repair replacement. Cheers for the response I'll update how things go.

Cheers for replying. Reported my issues to the store I bought it from and sadly refund is last resort with them likely be a replacement unit I get first. Hopefully it's not a fault across them all.

Hi, just wondering how you got on with Medion support regarding this issue. Interested as got the same model laptop and having the exact same issue with it as you are regarding the CPU temps. Raised it with Medion now and awaiting a response but was curious on how your getting on with them and if the issue has been resolved. Cheers.
