The AUX input (aux from auxiliary as a prefix in the sense of secondary/additional/auxiliary) is an analogue input for stereophonic audio signals.
In addition to the inputs adapted to the specifics of certain audio sources, the AUX input is an additional and universal (because uncritical) feed option for any audio signal sources for further processing, e.g. in audio amplifiers, recorders, mixers or equalisers.
The most common connections are a 3.5 mm jack plug or cinch plug.
