Newish Medion Akoya E2228T battery won't hold charge any longer

I have a E2228T bought last month from Aldi UK. Great little notebook. Takes a while to charge the battery - about 5hrs - but lasts a long time on a charge, or rather it did. All of a sudden the battery drains down to 2% over about 8 hrs even with it powered down/turned off. For two days in a row I have charged it overnight, and with it powered down the battery has drained down to 2% in just a few hours the next day. The power lead is so short it's not feasible to use it with the charger plugged in all the time, but inflexible to use in tablet mode like this anyway.

I notice this has started after a Win 10 update. Is there any connection?

Okay. Seem to have fixed it by following some advice on the web re static on the motherboard causing problems. Held down the power on/off button for 30 secs, which is suposed to clear it. Does seem to have worked. It's now back to holding a charge - whatever the battery level - over 24hrs, as it did to start with.
