Definition

DisplayPort is a universal and licence-free connection standard for the transmission of digital image and sound signals standardised by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).
Applications are essentially the connection of screens and TV sets to computers, DVD players and similar devices.

 

Pin assignment

The pin assignment of the DisplayPort as seen from the video source (PC, laptop).
On the monitor side, lanes 0-3 are reversed, i.e. lane 0 is crossed out with lane 3, lane 1 with lane 2.
