Intel i5 12th gen 12400 Cinebench performance

Hello I recently bought the ERAZER gaming desktop MD34805.

Testing the i5 12400 performance on cinebench r23 multi thread is truly awful 5200 score vs over 12000 expected. Expected scores from here:

https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/cpu-intel_core_i5_12400

https://youtu.be/4gv-_ItnWfg

This review of the MB suggests the latest gigabyte bios update solves a significant issue with the CPU results. They've had bios updates in both Jan and March 22.

I can't help wondering if the OEM firmware produced by American Megatrends haven't caught up.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Has anyone else had this issue? If not what's your cinebench score vs expectations with your medion desktop? Any tips /tricks please?

Thanks.

Hello,

you can your Medion Mainboard BIOS Update with original Gigabyte BIOS.

Download BIOS File and rename to "Gigabyte.bin" and Update only with Gigabyte Q-Flash PLus

It's worth mentioning the bios date is 19th Jan 2022 which is before the last two bios releases of the native (non OEM) gigabyte bios.

@JDKomodo

I'm just checking to see if there any later BIOS for you

Please can you confirm what OS you're using? Windows 10  or 11 ?

Are you seeing any heat problems at all ?

Thanks

Several years on I just wanted to update people with my progress - at long last I've eventually given up entirely on professional support from Medion.

The motherboard manufacturer has provided 15 updates since the stock version from Medion (Jan 2022) has been released and Medion have never released an OEM bios update. Having sourced the same non-OEM board form Gigabyte I've more now more than doubled my Cinebench score, demonstrating the Medion locked bios was massively throttling the performance of the rest of the hardware.

I understand it's possible to potentially do this yourself without even needing to source a new motherboard through the Qflash+ feature provided by the board manufacturer Gigebyte. As always any of these changes are at your own risk.

Agreed. You may find you need to then reapply the Secureboot tokens in the bios and re-enable before restarting to have Secureboot active. I found this was required to open a few applications.
