Why is my cooling unit unusually loud?

Question

Why is my cooling unit unusually loud?

Answer

A certain noise level (a crackling noise in the interior, slight humming noises) is inherent in the design. You can find information on unusual noises in wine coolers here. If you find the noise unusually loud for a refrigerator / freezer, you can take the following steps to remedy the situation:

  • Make sure that the appliance does not touch other objects / appliances.
  • If the noise sounds like gurgling, then air has probably crept into the cooling circuit. Therefore, disconnect the appliance from the power supply for at least 12 hours so that the cooling liquid can settle again.
  • If you hear a cracking noise, this is due to the material composition, which changes depending on the temperature and can therefore produce a cracking noise. However, this is due to the design and has no effect on the function of the appliance.
