Why can't I leave the S mode?

Symptoms

S mode can't be exited.
The Windows Store indicates that no results were found.

Diagnosis

The described symptom when trying to exit S mode currently occurs with the following languages:

• fr - French
• it - Italian
• nl - Dutch
• pl - Polish
• pt - Portuguese

Solution

The following workaround exists for the symptom described until Microsoft has fixed the problem:

1. Temporarily install another language and change your system to this language.
   👉  How do I change the system language in Windows?
2. Now exit S mode in this temporary language.
   👉  How do I switch out of Windows 10 in S mode?
3. You can then switch back to the source language and uninstall the additionally installed language.

This workaround can be used with the following languages (tested under Windows 11):

• da - Danish
• de - German
• et-ee - Estonian
• en-gb - English (British/international English)
• en-us - English (US English)
• es - Spanish
• fi - Finnish
• hu - Hungarian
• lt - Lithuanian
• lv - Latvian
• no - Norwegian
• ru - Russian
• si - Slovenian
• se - Swedish
