Question

How to set up the virtual barrier for robot vacuum cleaner MD 18500?

Answer

By using the photoelectric barrier, which uses an infrared signal to build up a virtual wall, it is possible to reduce the radius of action of your robot vacuum cleaner. For example, you can prevent it from driving too close to fragile objects or exclude certain areas for cleaning.

The virtual wall becomes wider the greater the distance to the device is (see picture), maximum length of the barrier is 3 m. The widening is a typical behavior with infrared signals and does not represent an error.

If you need to reduce the radius of action by the robot vacuum cleaner to one specific room, set up the virtual wall outside the door.

The power button must direct to the top and the infrared sensor is not allowed to be covered. Please also note that the light barrier must be placed on the right in front of the robot vacuum cleaner in the direction of travel.
